Elena YAKUBOVSKAYA is a head of
the group in 'TechnoGene' research and development company. This company
specialized in cardiology drug development and molecular biology reagents
production. Elena is responsible for design and production of enzymes with
additional properties, she is also involved in the development and management of
new projects. The field of her interests includes an application of
nano-technologies in biology and practical implementation of these physical
ideas in a biochip production. In a more general sense she is particularly
interested in issues of health, environment, waste management and science
communication.
Elena graduated from Moscow State University in 1993. She is a biochemist by
training, with PhD from the Engelhardt Institute of Molecular Biology, Moscow.
Her post-doctoral experience at the Shemyakin Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry,
Moscow, devoted to topoizomerase inhibitors as a potential anticancer drug. The
present list of publications includes 10 papers published in the leading
scientific journals.
